We had our annual Missions Festival at church the weekend of 2/20. This is a time that the church can hear from missionaries (local and overseas) what God is doing in their area of ministry. It is also a time for the church body to see if there is a place that God is calling them to serve. A gentleman got up and spoke about his ministry- the Mocha Club. He serves in Africa and this is a way that average people can make a huge difference. He shared what $7 a month can do in Africa- basically the price of 2 mochas (or whatever your favorite drink is at Starbucks or Caribou), hence the name. It blew my mind how much just $7 can do. So the Lord really gripped our hearts to be involved in this ministry, and to encourage friends and family to join with us!! Usually I have such "good intentions" but the follow-through, not so much. But, I did join and am excited about asking you to do the same! Just go to www.mochaclub.org and check it out. There are several different projects that you can choose from to support- all great causes, and most importantly, Jesus is made known.
